HSBC Charity Partner of the Year

The HSBC Charity Partner of the Year is an annual fundraising campaign that promotes and encourages employees to raise funds for one charity through various projects. The campaigned is anchored by three means of fundraising; collection of funds through donation boxes placed within the headquarters and branches nationwide, fundraising through various employee initiatives such as charity sale events, and a Charity Walk that is open to employee as well as public participation. It also provides volunteering opportunity for employees to engage and contribute towards the selected charity. Charity Partner for 2014 is Rumah Hope, a home for abused and neglected children located at Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya.

PERTIWI Soup Kitchen

In January 2012, HSBC Malaysia committed towards a year-long initiative to provide hygiene bags once a month to the PERTIWI Soup Kitchen project, as part of the Bank's continuing contribution to the local community in the Klang Valley. In April 2012, the Bank added more support by providing weekly breakfast packs to the 550 - 600 homeless around the old KL city centre. From 2013 onwards, support is also provided towards the cost of the medication prescribed by the volunteer doctors to the homeless during its distribution rounds. The PERTIWI Soup Kitchen project was established by Pertubuhan Tindakan Wanita Islam (PERTIWI) to provide meals to the homeless at various locations around Kuala Lumpur.
